Approximately four out of five people who need care for mental, neurological and substance use disorders, in countries with low and lower-middle incomes, do not receive it, a statistic that should make us reflect on this problem.

In 2015, World Mental Health Day is celebrated under the motto ‘Put yourself in my place. Connect with me ’, a message of hope that aims to convey hope and empathy, so that everyone can learn to know this reality and live together with it, without fear or prejudice.

With the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles that help prevent mental disorders, SIGRE joins this World Day and offers 10 useful tips to take care of mental health:

1. Take care of your sleep hours:

Depending on each person, it is important to sleep between 6 and 8 hours, approximately, each day. In addition, it is convenient to always sleep at the same time and follow the same routine.

2. Exercise:

It is very positive to exercise 3 times a week since it helps us to secrete endorphins and serotonin, hormones closely related to the feeling of well-being.

Set short, medium, and long-term goals that contribute to structure and give meaning to life.

7. Take care of your personal relationships:
